The CBS International Business School is a state-recognised, private business school with predominantly English-language courses of study and an international orientation. It is one of the pioneers of Bachelor's studies in Germany and today offers a broad program portfolio of Bachelor's, Master's and MBA programs.


Studienkolleg Prep4University (P4U) is the state-recognized university preparation program of CBS International Business School for international students who do not yet meet the direct admission requirements for studying in Germany. The program prepares students academically, linguistically, and culturally for higher education through intensive subject-specific instruction and language training. As part of a dynamic, international team, you will support students on their journey to German universities and help shape an innovative educational program with a truly global impact.

For the start of the Winter Semester 2026, we are looking for:

Lecturers for the subject English (m/w/d)

in the Studienkolleg Prep4University department on a freelance basis


Your Mission

Are you passionate about preparing international students for academic success in Germany? Join our Prep4University team and help shape an inspiring learning experience for students from around the world. As a Freelance English Lecturer, you will equip students with the language skills, confidence, and academic competencies they need to succeed in higher education. Through engaging teaching and your commitment to educational excellence, you will make a lasting impact on our international learning community.

Your tasks:

    • Teach English as a Foreign Language – deliver English language courses and prepare and mark examinations, including the final assessment examination (Feststellungsprüfung)

What you bring:

    • Academic qualification – you hold a Master's degree, ideally in English Studies, Teaching English as a Foreign Language, or a related field
    • Language expertise – you have a strong understanding of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
    • Pedagogical competence – you apply strong didactic and methodological skills to create engaging and effective learning experiences
    • Teaching experience – you bring several years of experience teaching English as a foreign language, preferably in higher education or an academic environment
    • Knowledge of the German education system – experience with and an understanding of the German education system is an advantage but not required
    • Intercultural competence – you enjoy working in an international environment and are a collaborative team player
    • Digital teaching experience – you have experience with digital teaching and are willing to teach in both digital and hybrid formats
